Ephemeral

Poppies do not last long.
They appear suddenly among the grass, lighting up the landscape with their vibrant red and, within a few days, they are already beginning to fade. Their beauty lies not in permanence, but in fragility.
This collection was born from the desire to preserve something that is, by nature, fleeting. Through the cyanotype process, the flowers leave their imprint on paper, becoming traces, shadows, and silhouettes.
They are no longer flowers to be observed, but delicate presences that speak of the passage of time.

The process

These works are created using the wet cyanotype process on acid-free cotton paper.
The flowers are placed directly onto the sensitized surface while the paper is still damp. Water and chemicals continue to move during exposure, altering the contours and creating unpredictable variations.
Each print emerges from a fragile balance between intention and chance, much like the subjects it portrays.
